What is the minimum age someone can use DQ products?
16 years old with parental guidance.
Is DQ medical grade?
No, it’s a Cosmeceutical which means they will penetrate the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate the skin’s natural processes.
What is the shelf life of products – opened and unopened?
Opened is 1 year unless otherwise stated on the packaging, unopened is 2-3 years.
Which products are safe for pregnancy, gluten allergy, dairy allergy, nut allergies/fruitallergy.
We are not claiming any products to be safe for pregnancy and recommend they consult their physician
Can everybody use the products… men and women and all Fitzpatrick’s?
Yes, absolutely!
If the client is getting breakouts or red/irritated skin after using the products does this mean DermaQuest doesn’t agree with their skin?
No, it might be that they are not using the correct products for their skin so they need to ask a DermaQuest specialist for guidance.
If it’s not sunny out do I still need to wear SPF?
Yes, it should be used everyday regardless of whether it is sunny or not.
Can the products be applied over the eyelids?
No, this will cause irritation as the skin on the eyelids is very sensitive.
When will I see a result from using the products?
Depending on the product and concern, results will start to be seen from 2-4 weeks.
Professional Treatments
Frequently asked professional treatment questions.
What is the minimum age for treatments?
16 years for facials with parental consent. Resurfacers and peels can be performed from 18 years old.
How many treatments can be performed in a course? Do they need to have a break in between courses of treatments?
6 resurfacers in a course, and 3 Peels in a course. After a course of either resurfacers or peels there needs to be a minimum of 3 months break before another course can be performed. OR after a course, can maintain the result with a monthly resurfacer
How can the DQ treatments be used in conjunction with other modalities?
Some of the resurfacers can be performed before some treatments such as microdermabrasion, microneedling or non surgical face lift. Please see DQ protocols. Otherwise you can alternate treatments. Please see Cocktails in the back of Chemical peels and Mixology workbooks
What Qualification does someone need to be able to perform DQ treatments?
A beauty therapy qualification to a minimum of Level 4 in the UK for resurfacers, Level 6 for Chemical peels (or equivalent).
What is a “good” reaction post treatment, and in the next few days. E.g. erythema how much is good and how long should it last for?
A mild erythema may be seen for a few hours, possibly to the next few days after treatment depending on the treatment performed and the strength/depth it goes into the skin.
What is the downtime after treatment?
Resurfacers is only 1-2 days downtime. Chemical peels can be 7-10 days of downtime.
Can you treat the body areas with Resurfacers and Chemical peels?
Yes, the back and chest can be treated, but we recommend only treating an A4 paper size area at one time, and one pass of Chemical peel only.
What to do if there is a reaction, products goes in the eye etc?
Consult your skincare professional for the proper action.
